Planning a wedding can be stressful. There are times when things won’t go to plan and times when you might feel overwhelmed. So it’s really important to find ways to de-stress before your wedding day, otherwise you will feel burned out and fed up, when you should be having the happiest day of your life.  Of course hiring a wedding planner or co-ordinator like myself is the perfect way to ensure a stress free build up to the day. I’m here to do all the things that might have otherwise caused worrying, stressing and hassle before the wedding.  I take care of all the details, big and small meaning you simply have to concentrate on having the best day of your life. I work to all budgets and can look after the entire wedding day, or simply certain aspects, it’s completely up to you.  You give me your vision and I will bring it to life.

If you’d like to chat in more detail about how I can help bring your day together, then please email me. In the meantime, here’s my top ten tips on simple and practical ways to de-stress ahead of your wedding day.

Hire a Wedding Planner

This really is the best way to ensure you won’t get stressed ahead of your big day.  A wedding planner is there to take the hassle and stress away from your shoulders and instead leave you to concentrate on having the day of your dreams. A good wedding planner will work to your budget and deliver an incredible service. Don’t forget you can have a wedding planner co-ordinate the whole thing, or just the finer details, it’s totally up to you.

Date Night

Under the pressure and stress of planning a wedding, it can be easy to find yourself getting a little preoccupied or even ratty with your husband or wife to be. So make time for the two of you. Try and have a regular date night – go and see a movie, cook a nice meal at home, go out for dinner, or simply sit in and watch a move. It doesn’t really matter what you do as long as it’s quality time for the two of you.

Pamper Spa Day

Why not organise a spa pamper day for you and your bridesmaids and mum? It’s the ideal way to unwind and de-stress. Have a massage, a facial or treatment and make full use of the relaxing steam rooms, sauna and swimming pool. You will float out of the place feeling totally relaxed.

Yoga Class

Now is the perfect time to take up a relaxing hobby like yoga. With its gentle exercises and calming influence it could be just the thing to keep you relaxed ahead of the big day.

Delegate

Don’t be afraid to delegate or ask for help. You might be a multi-tasking superwoman but you can’t organise the entire wedding by yourself. And when you stop and think about it, you’ll probably have an army of enthusiastic family and friends who are eager to help. Your bridesmaids will be a case in point.

Laughter

They say laughter is the best medicine, and it really is. Make time to laugh! Go and see a funny movie with your husband or wife to be and just let the belly laughs flow. You will feel so much better after it.

Exercise

Exercise is a twofold stress reliever. Firstly it releases endorphins, which will give you a natural high! And second it will help you keep in shape ahead of the big day!

Sleep

Getting enough sleep in the run up to your wedding is crucial, not just for your well-being but to keep you looking fresh and rested for the big day. Exercise is a great way to improve your sleep too. Why not invest in some lavender spray for your pillow or start a reading routine before bedtime and ban all tablets and phones from the bedroom.

Let Off Steam

Sometimes you just have to vent, because trust me, there will be times when things don’t go to plan, so confide in your BFF, bridesmaids, mum, or even your partner and really go for it. Sometimes you just need to scream, swear and throw your arms around in a 2 year old style tantrum. You will feel better after it I promise!

Remember Why You’re Doing It

Finally it’s important to remember why you’re putting yourself through the stress of wedding planning! It’s because you are about to formally tell the world that you are going to spend the rest of your life with your partner. It’s a declaration and celebration of your love in front of your family and friends. Focus on that and it really will give you your second wind.
